Only bummer is that it’s really short, more like a quick recap, but it’s well-paced and it’s really fun.
It basically answered all the questions I had. Basically I wish Toy Story 4 had been her own spin-off! There’s enough stuff in there for a feature-length movie and I actually wish I had gotten to see that movie ! I also wish we had gotten to see how Bo met her new friends and the whole motley crew of toys from the antique store. This short isn’t laugh-out-loud funny nor is it a tearjerker, but it fills the gap of how Bo ended up leaving the antique store and it’s kind of packed with action. It’s worth re-watching with the sound off just to really pay attention to the minute detail of the animation. I’d enjoy anything featuring Bo Peep, but this short has objectively gorgeous animation! The carousel scene looks on par with Toy Story 4, and the rest of the scenes are more like a succession of new situations that only lasts a few seconds each, so that must have required several new character models and environments, it’s impressive. It’s directed by Valerie LaPointe, one of the writers of Toy Story 4.Īs Bo and Woody finish catching up at the carnival, Bo tells him what happened to her after she was donated by Andy’s family. "Or, maybe, too exciting." If the trailer is anything to go by, the latter half rings more true, as Bo is set on fire and frozen in snow, fighting stray cats and surviving at college parties along the way.Lamp Life is a companion short to Toy Story 4 focusing on Bo Peep. "Overall, life sitting on a baby lamp isn't that exciting," says Bo in the voiceover for the trailer. Bo and Woody eventually leave Bonnie to go on adventures in Toy Story 4's well-received ending.
Bo makes her triumphant return in Toy Story 4 as a childless "lost" toy, who helps Woody recover Forky, a toy created by Woody's new kid, Bonnie. In Toy Story 3, she is one of the toys to have left over the years, to Woody's obvious woe. In the first two movies, Bo Peep is a love interest for Woody, and he is seen to change his mind when Bo, gently flirting, suggests a different course of action. Bo Peep, played by Ghostbustersand Young Sheldonstar Annie Potts, is part of a ceramic lamp that plays lullabies, and is never without her shepherd's crook and three trusty sheep. Besides Woody, played by Tom Hanks, and Buzz, played by Tim Allen, several other toys make appearances throughout the four films.
